Privacy policy
Who we are
Service Centre Australia is a trading name of Skyzer Pty Ltd (ABN 22 105 197 868). In this policy, "we", "us" and "our" mean Skyzer Pty Ltd trading as Service Centre Australia. We are bound by the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.
We repair, refurbish and manage returns of devices on behalf of manufacturers, retailers and service providers ("partner brands"). Where we handle your information as part of a repair, we do so on behalf of, and under agreement with, the partner brand you dealt with.
What we collect
- Contact details such as your name, email address, phone number and delivery address.
- Device details such as make, model, serial number, fault description and repair history.
- Your repair reference and the partner brand that arranged the repair.
- Invoice and payment records for out-of-warranty work. Card payments are processed by [PAYMENT PROVIDER]; we do not see or store full card numbers.
- Emails you send us, for example replies about a return label or invoice.
- If you use our partner enquiry form: your name, company, work email and enquiry details.
- Basic technical information when you visit our website, such as browser type and IP address, used for security and site operation.
We will never ask for your password, or for card details by email or phone.
How we collect it
Most information comes to us from the partner brand or retailer that arranged your repair. We also collect information directly when a business contacts us through this website, and from the device itself where needed to complete a repair.
Why we use it
- To receive, diagnose, repair, test and return your device.
- To email you about your repair, including received and dispatched notices and return shipping labels.
- To invoice and take payment for out-of-warranty work, and answer questions about it.
- To report back to the partner brand that arranged the repair.
- To respond to business enquiries.
- To meet our legal, quality and security obligations.
We do not sell personal information or use repair customers' details for our own marketing.
Who we share it with
- The partner brand or retailer that arranged your repair.
- Couriers and freight providers, to collect and return devices and generate shipping labels.
- Our payment provider, to process payments for out-of-warranty work.
- Service providers who help us operate, such as IT, email and hosting providers, under confidentiality obligations.
- Government or regulators where required by law.
Overseas disclosure
[CONFIRM: Some of our systems may be hosted outside Australia, for example in Singapore. Where this happens, we take reasonable steps to ensure the information is protected in line with the Australian Privacy Principles.]
Data on devices
Please back up and, where possible, remove personal data from your device before it is sent for repair. Repairs may require the device to be reset or have its storage replaced. Where devices are refurbished, data is erased using [DATA ERASURE STANDARD].
How we keep it secure
Our facilities are access-controlled and our systems restrict access to staff who need it. We keep personal information only as long as needed for the repair, our agreement with the partner brand, and our legal obligations, then securely destroy or de-identify it.
Access, correction and complaints
You can ask to access or correct personal information we hold about you, or make a privacy complaint, by emailing privacy@service-centre.com.au. We will respond within 30 days. For questions about your repair itself, please contact your brand or retailer.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
